Frank Pleasant, age 79, of Harmon Street, Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Frank was born December 7, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Loyd Franklin Pleasant, Sr. and Pearl Edith Owens Pleasant. Frank served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for PPG Industries, Cone Mill and Broyhill for many years. Frank was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and playing softball and baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Garcia; son, Loyd Franklin Pleasant III; granddaughter, Betsy Linder Ponton and one sister, Patricia McNaughton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-six years, Mary Louise Pleasant; two daughters, Angie Linder (Kenneth) of Shiloh and Frankie Hope Gettys (Jerry) of Caroleen; brother, Roger Pleasant (Lavonda) of Forest City; two step-daughters, Rhonda Renee Duncan of Rutherfordton, Sherry Lynn Ferguson (Scott) of Caroleen and step-son, Steve Duncan of Caroleen. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Randy Church and Bro. Kenneth Linder officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
