Franklin Daniel Morgan

On Friday, February 4, 2021, a great celebration was happening in heaven on the streets of gold as Franklin Daniel Morgan, 87, was reunited with his wife Betty Faye of 68 years, following a 7 week separation.

Born in Newport News, VA on November 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Lillie C. Taylor and Daniel W. Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Faye Morgan, his brother, Sampson W. Morgan, and his 5 sisters, Charlotte Cooper, Viola Crosby, Perley Mae Morgan, Evelyn Ayers and Estelle Payne, and a son-in-law, Rev. Henry Nichols, Jr.

Frank is survived by his son, Richard Daniel Morgan (Theresa), daughters, Patricia Morgan Nichols and Betty Lynn Morgan Keener (Paul), all of Lattimore, NC; Seven grandchildren, Rick Morgan (Kirsten), Lori Gambill (Garret), Daniel Nichols (Danyel), Sherri Nichols, Henry Nichols III (Ashley), Jacob Keener and Sarah Keener; fourteen great grandchildren, four great-great granddaughters and many very loved nieces and nephews.

After they married on February 28, 1953, the Morgan's lived in Newport News, VA where they started their family. They were faithful members of Central Baptist Church of Hampton, VA where he served as a trustee and deacon. Frank retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in December of 1995 after 43 years as a welder and Master Shipbuilder. They lived there 45 years and after retirement they moved to Lattimore, NC. Frank helped build Victory Baptist Church in Lattimore where his son-in-law, Henry Nichols was pastor. He and his wife were faithful members there until the very end. He loved camping, woodworking, restoring his 1929 A-model, and tinkering in his garage. He could fix or repair anything we broke. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa. He will be missed. We love you, Daddy!
