Fredrick Cooper Jefferies

Mr. Fredrick Cooper Jefferies, 70, of 6445 Beam Lumber Road, Vale, NC departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Jefferies was born on March 27, 1953, in Cleveland County to the late Johnny Jefferies and the late Geneva Mack Jefferies who were from Lincolnton, NC.

He was a 1973 graduate of West Lincoln High School and earned an associate degree from Gaston College. Mr. Jefferies was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired Diesel Mechanic with more than 40 years in the trucking industry. His employment history included Vermont America Western Freight-Liner in Hickory, NC and Houser. He also worked as a junior varsity basketball coach at St. Stephens High School. His love of sports was reflected in his participation with various community basketball and softball teams throughout the years. Fredrick coached his children as well in basketball, softball, and baseball in various points of their lives. His other hobbies included vintage car repair, hosting family events, vintage car cruise-ins, car shows and bowling.

Mr. Jefferies never met a stranger. He was caring, giving, intelligent, friendly, thoughtful, and hardworking; being noted as the hardest working man he knew. He enjoyed dancing and he truly loved his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Eddie Ray Jefferies, Betty Jean Mauney, Dorothy Ann Horne, Rachel Avon Jefferies, and Robert Lee Jefferies.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Chrysandra Jefferies-James of the home; children, Fredrick Tyrone Thomas of Center Valley, PA, Fredrick Jermaine Jefferies of Greensboro, NC, Jordan Chrystan Jefferies-James of Greensboro, NC, and Terra Natasha Jefferies-James of Salisbury, NC. He is also survived by siblings, Johnny Kenneth Jefferies of Cherryville/Wilmington, NC, Genet "Pat" Jefferies of Lincolnton, NC, and Ressie B. Jefferies of Cherryville, NC; uncle, Matthew Campbell; aunt, Aileen Toms; sister-in-law, Judy Thomas (Rev. Benny) of Lincolnton, NC, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 3 pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC. The reception of friends will be from 2:30 pm until 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery
