Free Christmas Concert to Benefit Local Shelters
The members of First Baptist Church in Shelby invite the community to “save the date” of Sunday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m. for a Christmas Concert featuring Dove Award winning songwriter Kyle Matthews. Matthews is a member of the pastoral staff of First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC as he travels widely to share his songs that blend sound theological reflection with storytelling to encourage the spiritual health of the church.
The tickets for this concert are FREE! Cleveland County neighbors are welcome to gather together for this worship time. During the concert, a love offering will be received as a Christmas gift to those in need in our community. All the proceeds of this love offering will be given equally to the Abuse Prevention Council and their shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence AND to the Interfaith Alliance and their Cleveland County Rescue Mission shelter for men.
Free tickets are available for this concert at the First Baptist Church office as well as through the Abuse Prevention Council and the Interfaith Alliance.
In two decades of writing and performing, Kyle Matthews has emerged as one of Christian music’s most outstanding and unique songwriters. Of his over 60 cuts by major artists of disparate genres, he has penned such well known songs as “If You Want Me To,” recorded by Ginny Owens, “Everything and Nothing,” recorded by Vince Gill, “One and the Same,” recorded by Cece Winans, “God Forbid,” recorded by Point of Grace, and “Been Through the Water,” recorded by Kyle.
This Christmas Concert will be a great way to celebrate together during the Advent season and it will give us a great opportunity to give a blessing to ministries in our city who are working faithfully every day to care for the needs of homeless and hurting neighbors in our county!
