Garland Daniel "Danny" Davis, Jr., 83, went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at White Oak Manor of Shelby after an extended illness. Danny was born on June 9, 1939, in Guilford County, NC, and was the son of the late Garland and Janice Davis. After graduating from Pleasant Garden School in Greensboro, NC, in 1957, Danny went on to serve in the National Guard. He was also a valued employee of NCR, where he worked for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, had a love for animals, enjoyed spending time with his family, and attended Lafayette Street United Methodist Church.

Danny is survived by his brother, Benjamin "Butch" Davis, Butch's wife, Linda, and their son Britt and Britt's wife, Trudy;his sister Peggy McLeod; his daughter Beth Stilwell, Beth's husband, Brian, and their three children, Noah, Jude and Ella;his daughter, Lori Davis; his son, Lindsay Davis, Lindsay'swife, Kim, and their children Jackson, Linzy and his wife Nichole, Michael and his wife Keramilah, Christopher Davis, his stepdaughter, Lori Heafner, Lori's husband, Chris, and their son, Sawyer; his four great grandchildren; and Danny's special friend, Joyce Walker.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, and this will be followed by a graveside service at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Rick Hamrick officiating.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the wonderful care Danny received by the nurses and medical staff at White Oak Manor, Hospice of Shelby and Dr. Liu of Sanger Cardiology, and especially for the care provided by Dr. Mike, Jessica, Stephanie, Allyssa, Brandie Amy, and staff of Shelby Medical.
