Gary Wade Willis, 62, of Lawndale, passed away on July 3, 2026 at Wendover Hospice House.

Gary was born on January 24, 1964 in Cleveland County, to Jesse Craven Willis and the late Elsie Lou Parker Willis. He was retired after 35 years of service from Ronnie Ledford Roofing.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Bernice Willis; son, Justin Willis and wife, Melina of Asheville; daughter, Brandy Willis of Tennessee; two brothers, Ronnie Willis and wife, Rene of Kings Mountain and Michael Willis and wife, Jennifer of Lawndale; two sisters, Daphene McNeilly of Casar and Ellie Beason and husband, Bobby of Shelby; grandchildren, Dylan Willis, Carter Willis, Jordan Willis (Taylor) and Mason Hamrick and great-grandchildren, Jesse Willis, Layne Willis, Paislee Foster and Pressley Foster. Gary is also survived by his sister-in-law who was also his caregiver, Patrica Hamrick and husband, Tim Strange and two special caregivers from Hospice Kiki and Heidi.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11:00am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.W. Anthony officiating.

Burial will follow at Knob Creek Church Cemetery in Lawndale.
