Gary Wayne Smith, age 69, of Boiling Springs, NC passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland Hospital in Shelby.

He was the son of the late William E. "Bill" Smith and the late Ethel Jenelle "Nelle" Smith and a native of Cleveland County.

Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a great provider for his family and will be missed by his family and community. Gary was also retired from Duke Energy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Millard Keith Smith.

Gary is survived by his wife of forty six years Sandra Hames Smith of the home, two daughters; Kim Chapman (Ben) and Kelly Smith Martin, two brothers; Steve Smith (Helen) and Vaughn Smith (Karen), seven grandchildren; Kelsey Blanton, Tylar Hoyle, Alex Chapman, Trinity Chapman, John Martin, Lily Martin and Cora Smith, two nephews and three nieces.

A graveside service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro, NC with Reverend Mike Frazier officiating.
