Gayle Jenkins, age 74, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Spindale, NC, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville.

Gayle was born Tuesday, June 17, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Harold Lawson Kennedy and Rosa Beachboard Kennedy. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1965 and earned an Associate Degree from Isothermal Community College. Gayle worked as a beautician most of her life and was also employed by Sally's Beauty Supply. She attended Father's Vineyard. Gayle will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Kennedy Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son William Barton "Bart" Jenkins, Jr. (Dana) of Knoxville; two sisters, Brenda Dobbins of Forest City and Martha Simpson of Ellenboro. She is also survived by grandsons, Will and Tyler Jenkins.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
