George Milton Funk, 77 of Fallston, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Santa Clara County, California on January 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Clyde Milton Funk and Stella Curtis Beam Funk. George was retired from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and Goforth Brothers. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and the Fallston Masonic Lodge #356.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Doris Smith Funk; daughter, Sherry Hunt and husband, Scott of Nebo, NC; a son, Mike Funk and wife, Christian of Fallston, NC; grandchildren, Alex Funk and Kayla Hunt McGee and husband, Noah.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at New Prospect Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Devine officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
