Mrs. Georgianne Brown Whiteside , 82, of 501 Crawford Street Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. She was born on March 17, 1937 in Cleveland County N.C. to the late Lyman Brown and Evie Gidney Brown.

Georgianne graduated from Stephens Lee High School and continued her eduction at A.B. Technical College earning a degree in nursing. She was employed at different hospitals and nursing homes in Asheville and the Shelby area before her retirement in the late 1980's.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, David Sanchez Brown.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, William "Doug" Whiteside; two daughters, Deborah Manning of Shelby and Mattie Brown of NC; two sons, David Brown (Dianne) and Ervin Brown (Torrena) all of Shelby; six grandchildren, Adria Cauthen of Shelby, Robert Ashe of Branden, FL, Cierra Manning of Atlanta, GA, Crystal Manning also of Atlanta, Antoine Brown of the U.S. Coast Guard and DeQuavionne Brown of Shelby; one great-grandson, Ashton McCombs of Shelby; sister-in-law, Debroah Whiteside (Charles Ross); brother-in-law, Steven Whiteside (Alice) and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday , October 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby. The family will be meeting at the home of David Brown, 904 Skinner Road in Shelby.
