Gerald Bennett Standridge, age 91 of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Shirley Standridge of the home, a son, Bobby Standridge (Vicki) of Little River, SC, two stepchildren, Tara Burdett (James) of Earl, NC, and Michael Wright Jr. (Jaclyn) of Grover, NC, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a special lifetime friend, Jerry Ramsey.

Born June 5, 1931 in Georgia, Gerald was the son of the late William and Hattie Howington Standridge and was preceded in death by a son, William "Billy" Gerald Standridge, a brother, Quillen Standridge, and five sisters, Hattie Tietje, Lourene Roberts, Luriene Brocato, Louise Webber, and Geneva Standridge.

Gerald worked and retired from Sears Roebuck. He served in the United States Navy.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm Friday, October 7, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church in Earl, NC, conducted by Rev. Doug Ramsey.
