Gerald Blaine Leonhardt, 85, of Vale, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born in Lincoln County, on December 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Blaine McKinley Leonhardt and Alta Mae Sain Leonhardt. He retired after forty-two years of service from Century Furniture as the plant manager. Gerald was also an avid golfer. He also served in the US Army 1st Calvary Division during the Korean War. Gerald was a devoted family man and loved being with his wife, kids, grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Leonhardt.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Judy Kay LeFevers Leonhardt; son, Kelly Leonhardt and wife Audra of Vale; a daughter, Joy Jungsberger and husband Peter of New Jersey; a brother, Carroll "Hosie" Leonhardt of Vale; three grandchildren, Christian Annas; Melody Twombly and husband Collin; and Brynna Billington and husband Josh; and a great-grandson, Westyn Billington.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
