Gilmer Davis Allison, 77, of Eastridge Drive, Lawndale, NC, passed away
Monday, October 24, 2016 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

He was born on October 24, 1939, in Cleveland County to the late Pinkney
Alexander Allison and Pearlie Mae Davis Allison. He was the owner and
operator of Gilmer Allison Trucking, Inc for over fifty years. He was a
member of Norman's Grove Baptist Church. Gilmer had a great passion for
bluegrass music operating Buffalo Creek Bluegrass, where family and friends
would gather to enjoy good company and music.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Joel Earl
Allison and honorary brother, Joe Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Lewis Allison; son, John
David Allison and wife, Jennifer of Lawndale; daughter, Ann Miller and
husband, Ken of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Caleb Miller, Cole Miller,
Marlee Griffith, and Chance Allison.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at
Norman's Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Building.

The celebration of life service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Norman's
Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Huss officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
