Godofredo "Freddy" Perez, age 74, of Shelby, passed away, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

Godofredo was born September 8, 1945 in Guatemala to the late Albino Perez and Elisa Leiva Perez. He was the owner and operator of Freddy's Small Engine Repair in Ellenboro for many years. Freddy loved to cook special dishes for his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of forty-two years, Addy Perez; seven daughters, Cindy Munoz, Brenda Giron, Shirley Gonzalez, Monica Almaraz, Anna Deaton, Mariam Guerra and Nancy Valdez; two sisters and one brother. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A private family gathering to honor Freddy's life will be held.
