Grace Huskey Poole

Grace Huskey Poole went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at her residence in Shelby, NC. She was born on February 7, 1947 in Cleveland County, NC to the late James and Eunice Accor Huskey.

Grace joined Shoal Creek Baptist Church at a very young age and remained a devoted and faithful member there. She served in different capacities over the years and was currently a member of the missionary department, senior Ministry and the Women of Strength Team where she was a leader.

Grace retired from Eaton Corporation in 2004 where she was employed for 20 years. In 2010 she was hired by a federal program sponsored by the United Way of Cleveland County as a foster grandparent. That same year, she was hired by Enloe Mortuary where she worked as a funeral attendant. She remained devoted to both until her passing. Grace loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. It was not anything that she would not do for any of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Poole, Sr. and a daughter-in-law, Danette Poole.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory to her sons, Patrick Poole (Shermaunda), Jimmy Poole (Troy), Milton Poole and Jimmy Jermain Whisnant (Jenise); two daughters, Monica Potts (Teddy) and April Surratt (Darnell); eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; six sisters, Mary Ann Wilson (Johnny), Martha Davis, Sandra Avery, Patricia Good (Alphonso), Theresia Lowery and Cherre Huskey; two brothers-in-law, John Poole and Nathan "Buddy" Poole; four sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Sawyer, Sylvia Hush, Jackie Tuft and Carlean Poole and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and special friends who will all greatly miss her.

The funeral service for Mrs. Grace Poole will be private. The service will be livestreamed starting at 1:45 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Mrs. Poole can be viewed from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
