Grace Marie Walker, age 81, of Smith Street, Forest City, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Oak Grove Health Care.
Grace was born August 25, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC, and was the daughter of the late J.F. Walker and Annie Mae Waters Walker. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and worked in textiles as an office administrator. She also worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Oakland Living Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Lee Walker and Ray Walker; one niece and a nephew.
She is survived by her brother, Freddie "Goat" Walker of Forest City; a life-long friend, Naomi "Dolly" Lauf of Bismarck, North Dakota. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews; sixteen great nieces and nephews and thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Danny Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow in Alexander Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
