KINGS MOUNTAIN:Greg Allen Eledge, affectionately known as Greg, passed away on August 13, 2025, in
Cleveland County, NC, at the age of 75. Born on October 29, 1949, in Oakland, CA, Greg lived a life marked
by adventure, hard work, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
A true renaissance man, Greg ventured into numerous fields, forming, selling, and operating multiple
businesses throughout his lifetime. He was a jack of all trades who mastered each one, from welding to
HVAC. Greg's endless curiosity and dedication were evident in every endeavor he undertook, and he inspired
those around him to pursue their passions with similar fervor.
Beyond his professional achievements, Greg lived life with gusto. He loved riding his motorcycle through the
open roads, exploring nature while hunting, and sharing stories about his impressive collection of knives and
guns. His deep connection to his Native American heritage was a source of pride and inspiration, and he shared
this passion with family and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Cowen Eledge and Maxine Nichols Eledge; and his sisters,
JoAnn Eledge and Marylee Eledge. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jackie Eledge, who was his
steadfast partner throughout their remarkable journey together.
He leaves behind a loving family who admired and cherished him: his son, Grant Eledge and wife June;
daughter, Bridget Goodwin and husband Jonathan; sister, Donna Alvarez; brothers, Dave Eledge and wife
Christine, and Howard Eledge and wife Betty. Greg was a proud grandfather to Mikal Eledge, Vashti Eledge,
Samuel Goodwin, and Josiah Goodwin, and a great-grandfather to Aislin Beach, Delaney Beach, Ronin
Rhoten, and Atlas Eledge.
A funeral service to honor Greg's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Clay-Barnette
Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to the service to share memories and
celebrate a life well-lived. Following the service, Greg will be laid to rest at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
As we say goodbye to Greg, let us remember his adventurous spirit, his commitment to lifelong learning, and
the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.
