Grendal Lee Borders

Mr. Grendal Lee Borders, 70, of 2332 Mason Street Shelby, NC received his promotion to GLORY on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at his home after a short illness.

 

Grendal was born to late Dave and Gladys Young Borders in Cleveland County, NC on May 6, 1942.  Later in life, he accepted Christ and became a faithful member of Faith Harvest Church where everyone fondly referred to him as “Uncle Gwendal.”

 

 

Grendal proudly worked at Hertz Celanese for many years, as well as managing the washerette on Suttle Street.  In addition, he was a veteran of the United States Army.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Gladys Young Borders; two sisters, Floree Borders and Sarah Morgan and six brothers, J.C. Borders, James Borders, George Borders, Frank Borders, Leonard Borders and Jack Black.

 

Left to cherish fond memories is one brother, Lamar Borders (Patricia); a step-daughter, Kim Jefferies Hardie; a step-son, Joe Jefferies; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Fairy Borders; caregiver, David Borders; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Faith Harvest Church with Bishop Randy Borders officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church on Monday.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
