Coach Jill Krick of the GWU Ladies Lacrosse Team brought her entire team to Ascension Lutheran Church in Shelby as volunteers for the fund raising BBQ benefit for Heart 2 Heart Place.
Shown here are the members of the Gardner Webb University Ladies Lacrosse Team who showed up to help at the Heart 2 Heart fund raising event held on Sunday, September 20th at Ascension Lutheran Church. Heart 2 Heart Place is an emergency shelter for women and children and is part of of the women's division of the Cleveland County Rescue Mission. CCRM provides food, shelter, medical assistance and a renewed sense of self-worth for many of Cleveland County's homeless. Coach Krick said: "We came to support this important event and help out as much as we could." The positive attitude and smiles of the team members made it an even more special day. Good job ladies and thanks for your good work.
The fundraiser will help with shelter renovations and on-going needs.
