H.E. Dinny Dunsmore, age 61, of Kings Mountain peacefully passed away at his home on a bright and cool Saturday morning on the 24th day of September 2022. He was born in Frankfurt Germany on February 21st, 1961, the oldest son of the late Allen Grant Dunsmore and Wilmetta Lou Lucas, who survives her son in his passing. He was beloved by his twelve children, fifteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren to whom he devoted himself. Dinny was a strong and humble man who dedicated his life to helping others. His retirement after 20 years of service to the United States Air Force and later his love of truck driving, reflected his desire to leave them all a better world for him having been in it.

In addition to his father Dinny was greeted by two loved daughters; Kitra Dunsmore-Garrett (Trinton), and Carrie Moore and one son, Shaye Fenske, and his stepfather, Ronald Foege who went before him to await his arrival.

He leaves his wife of almost 22 years, Tonya "Katt" Forbus Dunsmore in the protective hands of their remaining children; Ricky Parker, Charles Tucker, Dennis Boersma, Robert Sides, John Barreotis, Daniel Starcher, Brittany Bermundo, Thomas and wife Jamie Barreotis, and Todd Boersma and Dinny's siblings; Ricky, Becky, and Masha.

The family welcomes friends to a gathering celebrating Dinny from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in the chapel provided by King Mortuary in Gastonia, NC where military honors will be held.
