Hal Eugene Blanton

Hal Eugene Blanton, 90, of Lawndale, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at
Carolinas HealthCare System - Cleveland in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on July 26, 1927 he was a son of the late James
Blanton and Dolly Jefferies Blanton. He was a retired life insurance
salesman having represented Coastal Plain Life Insurance Company and
Southern Life Insurance Company. Hal was a member of Palm Tree United
Methodist Church, the United Methodist Men, and the Senior Sunday School
Class. He also served in the US Army.

Hal loved to work with wood, hunt, fish, and garden, but he truly enjoyed
spending time with family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn
Rachel Beam Blanton; two brothers, Hamp Blanton and Willard Blanton and
three sisters, Edna Brackett, Pearl Daggerhart, and Fushia Lingerfelt.

He is survived by his son, Mark Blanton and wife, Emily of Fallston;
daughter, Debbie Ramsey of Shelby; brother, Jim Blanton and wife, Mary of
Lawndale; three grandchildren, Jacob Blanton, Tammy Whelchel and husband,
Michael and Nathan Walker and wife, Paige; six great grandchildren, Aron
Walker, Carlee Ayers, Dalton Whelchel, Elana Whelchel, Bre Surratt, and
Haven Blanchard; and three great great grandchildren, Sawyer and Pierce
Walker and Noah Studyvance.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Palm Tree United
Methodist Church, Lawndale, with the Revs. Cindy Nanny and Scott Owen
officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
