Harold D. Carswell

Harold D. Carswell, age 78, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his residence.

Harold was born Tuesday, November 24, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late John William Carswell and Ethel Louise Bright Carswell.

He worked as a milk delivery man for many years and then for Scott Vending for over twelve years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Forest City. Harold was known for his ability to find humor in everyday life. His sense of humor never went away, even in the midst of his battle with cancer. Harold loved spending time with his late wife, Revonda, who passed in February. They were an inseparable pair. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to music and was an avid collector of model cars. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years, Revonda Crowe Carswell and a sister, Judy Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Michelle Carswell Bolding of Athens, Alabama and son, Michael Dean Carswell (Julie Collins) of Forest City; two stepdaughters, Donna Michelle Lavender (Dale) of Shelby and Teresa Annette Blackwell (Marion Fred) of Boiling Springs, SC; brother, Ed Carswell (Amy) of Shelby; two sisters, Barbara Lavender of Ellenboro and Janice Turner of Mooresboro. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Matt Mills and Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
