Harold Gray Poe, Sr., age 86, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday August 4, 2022 at his home in Shelby, NC.

Born in Winston-Salem on October 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Peyton Fearrington Poe and Virginia West Poe. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Poe.

Harold was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and was known as the standard bearer for his family. He will be remembered as a man who always saw the best in others and someone who valued his relationship with Christ, family, church and friends.

Harold attended Piedmont Bible College in Winston-Salem and was the Manager of Special Accounts for Westrock Corporation, formerly Container Corporation of America, for 43 years.

Harold is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathy Clark Poe, his three children; Donna Poe Smith and her husband Howard, Renee Poe Ordan and her husband Randy, and Harold Gray Poe, Jr., as well as, his brother, Phillip Poe and his wife Jean, two sisters, Brenda Jones and her husband Marion and Jennifer Church and her husband David. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Neil Pearson and his wife Jennifer, Kelly Hawkins, Farrah Kugman and her husband David, Preston Poe and two great grandchildren, Keaton Dawkins and Vera Kugman.

A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Monday August 8, 2022 at Ross Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Glisson and Pastor Gary Marburger officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. A private inurnment service will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
