Harold Ulessee Chapman, 85, of Gus Peeler Rd., Connelly Springs, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 9, 2023 at UNC Health - Blue Ridge, Morganton.

Born in Burke County on May 13, 1937, he was a son of the late Everette Bush Chapman and Lottie Bell Chapman. Harold worked hard from his youth in the sawmill logging industry. He and his brother, Garland started Chapman Brothers Logging with the help of CG Fox. For 55 years, they have cut big timber all over North Carolina and South Carolina. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and loved by his many friends at Bible Gospel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister; brother, Arnold Chapman and brother-in-law, JB Franklin.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ruby H. Chapman; three sons, Allen Chapman and wife Jennifer of Connelly Springs, Jimmy Chapman and wife Katie of Casar and Billy Chapman and wife Chastity of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Jacob (Tabatha), Anthony (Stefany), Jared, Natalie (Ty), Brandon and Hunter (Ashley); nine great grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Garland (Beulah), Everett Jr.(Carolyn), Mary Franklin, Myrtle (Dave) and Homer Chapman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Cook and Rev. Matt Holman officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
