Harold Wilson, 76, died Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George and Virginia Blanton Wilson. Harold served in the Navy and worked for Piedmont Airlines which later became U.S. Airways, where he retired after 32 ½ years of service. After retirement, he worked in security in Shelby and Kings Mountain. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, and was a member of the masonic lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert, Woodrow, George Jr. and Coleman Wilson; and sister, Barbara Jo Hardin. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diana "Skip" Stroup Wilson; daughters, Kimberly Dawn Krohn and husband Dennis of Shorewood, IL and Kristie Lynn Hanley and husband Kevyn of Cherryville; grandson, Kevyn Hanley and wife Ashley of Bostic; granddaughters, Jackie Krohn and fiancé Alex Keener of Seattle, WA and Hayley Krohn of Shorewood, IL; ; great-grandson, Kevyn Hanley of Bostic sisters, Betty Jean Overcash of Maiden, Katie Sue Bell of Shelby and Janet Enloe of Seaford, DE; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Operation Smile or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
