Harriette Grigg

Harriette Grigg, 90, died Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Nollie Justice Grigg and Irene Ford Grigg.

She retired from being a hairstylist after a long career. She was very artistic and her hobbies included quilting, sewing, pottery, painting, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She won many awards for her quilts over the years and enjoyed helping others learn how to do all types of artwork. She helped with the prayer shawl ministry at Double Springs Baptist for several years until her health did not allow her to continue. She was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Whisnant; and brother-in-law, Charles Whisnant.

She is survived by her brother, Ford Grigg and wife Vi; niece, Elizabeth Whisnant; nephews, Scott Whisnant, John Whisnant and wife Susan, James Grigg and wife Keenan, Jody Grigg and wife Anita; grand nieces, Amanda Jernigan and husband Ryan and Maddie Grigg; grand nephews, Adam Whisnant, Will Whisnant and Noah Whisnant; and her canine companion, Henry.

A graveside service will be held 3:00PM, Friday, December 16, 2022 in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM-2:30PM, prior to the graveside service, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Cleveland County Arts Council.
