Harvey P. Pegram, Jr., age 79, of East Park Road, Ellenboro, NC, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Harvey was born May 29, 1933 in Guilford County, NC to the late Harvey P. Pegram, Sr. and Fern West Pegram. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked for J.C. Cowan/Burlington Industries as an electrical engineer for 42 years before his retirement. He also owned and operated the East End Auto Body Shop for several years. His favorite pastime was working and paying bills.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Ruby Champion Pegram; one daughter, Ellen Pegram Hoppes; three sons, Keith Pegram, Scott Pegram and wife, Lori, Rodney Pegram and wife, Cheryl all of Ellenboro and one sister, Evelina Matthews of Burlington, NC. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend William Swink officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
