Haskell Bell

SHELBY: Haskell Bell, 93, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, Haskell was the son of the late Acie Claude and Edna Waterson Bell. He served in the US Navy and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #202. He was also a member of the Shriners and Elks Club. He retired from retired from Porter Brothers and later served as a volunteer with Hospice of Cleveland County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Marlene Borders Bell. He is survived by his son, Dr. Stephen Bell and wife Leslie of Bostic; grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Bell of Lexington, KY and Weston Bell of Lake Lure; former daughter in law, Mona Czarnecki of Fletcher; and nieces, Rita Ferguson of Kings Mountain and Renee Gilbert of Shelby. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Sunset Cemetery, with the Rev. Dale Byrd officiating. It is recommended those attending wear masks and practice social distancing.
