Hazel Adams McKoy, 69, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at Brian Center Gastonia in Gastonia, NC.

She was born in Cleveland County, NC on February 22, 1952 to the late Arthur Lee Adams and the late Lucy Jane Hartgrove Adams.

Hazel was a child who joined the Ellis Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. Graduating from Crest High School in Boiling Springs, NC, Hazel worked diligently in the food service industry and was a very loving mother who enjoyed helping people. She also enjoyed life...she laughed, she traveled, loving vacation time and fervently sought to learn about her family tree and all of her ancestors.

Hazel was preceded in death by a devoted husband, Jimmy, Sr.; loving son, Jimmy, Jr.; sisters, Betty Gray, Pearl Thompson and brother Howard L. Adams. She leaves to cherish many warm, loving memories: son, Jermaine; sisters, Dorothy Carelock, Dorothy Hopper, Felicia Griffin, Carrie Marble, Patty Brown (Louis) and Jane Adams-Dunford (Ollin) and brothers, Jake Adams (Doretha), Bobby Adams (Brenda), and Ronnie Adams.

The funeral service for Ms. McKoy will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed on Ellis Chapel FaceBook starting at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:00 Noon at the church.
