Helen Johnson Sims
Mrs. Helen Johnson Sims, 81, of 2759 Philadelphia Rd., Lawndale, NC departed this life on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hospice on Wendover.  She was born May 4, 1931 in Cleveland County to the late Cole Borders and Sarah Beatrice Johnson.

Mrs. Sims worked for Carolina Tables in Hickory, NC for over 20 years until she became disabled.  Mrs. Sims loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Lawndale, where she was a member of the Senior Choir.  She enjoyed growing flowers and gardening and had a green thumb.  In addition, she will be remembered as being a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cap and Amanda Deck Johnson; a sister, Alma Jean Lawrence; two brothers, J.P. Johnson and Paul Oates; a granddaughter, Brook Ingrid Kee; two great-grandsons, Chancellor Miller and Shaun Isaiah Surratt and a very aunt, Mrs. Texas Willow Miller.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Matthew Henry Sims of the home; her children, Theresa Ann Sims of Goldsboro, NC, Kay Miller of Shelby, Vickie Lynn Sims, Beverly Denise Sims and Michael Keith Sims (Daphne) all of Lawndale; twelve grandchildren, Corry Miller (Rhonda), Christopher Miller (Roslyn), Dyshena Miller Hoskins (Clay), Terry Miller, Jr. (CoCo), Levi Miller (fianceé, Ashley), Amanda Sims, Somone Kee , Shonda Stroud, Tywan Sims, Michael Surratt, Markith Sims, Demetrius Sims; 43 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a special aunt, Inez Joe of Philadelphia, PA; seven brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; special friends, Mrs. Janie Famble, Ms. Thelma Wray and Mrs. Bessie Weaver and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church Lawndale with Rev. Billy officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 PM at the church.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
