Mrs. Helen Morgan Woods departed this life on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on June 17, 1936 in Shelby, NC and was the youngest child of Walter and Ella Kee Morgan.

Mrs. Woods attended Camp High School. She joined Shoal Creek Baptist Church at an early age where she sang on the choir and was formerly in minister's training at the church. Mrs. Woods was a wife, mother and homemaker. She truly loved her family. She was an excellent seamstress and she loved to garden and cook and according to her family she made the best potato and sweet potato pies ever!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ezell Woods, Jr.; one daughter, Vickie Gail Fuller; six brothers, Nesbit Morgan, Minuel Morgan, Rev. Mac Daniel Morgan, Sr., William Morgan, Walter Lee Morgan and John Edward Morgan and five sisters, Julia M. Huskey, Geneva M. Elmore, Nora M. Hopper, Nannie Mae M. Morehead and Maeola Hopper.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of her, five sons, Henry Woods of the home, Ricky Woods (Zelda) of Kingstown, NC, Darryl Woods (Annette), Dion Woods and Fabian Woods all of Shelby; 18 grandchildren and one of which was raised in the home, Travis Mitchell; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Burial will take place at church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:00 Noon at the church and other times at the home of her son, Darryl Woods, 412 Charles Road Shelby, NC.
