Herman Elexis Hopper, 59, of 1809 Kingston Road Kingstown, NC passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 5, 1961 to Emma Thurman Hopper and the late William Hopper.

Herman was a small man with a big heart. To know Herman was to love him. His passions were entertainment and cooking and he loved to DJ. Herman was always the same whenever you saw him. He was fun, friendly, classy and never changed. He kept everyone laughing and always made you smile. Herman loved his family, friends, his dog, Gotti and he loved kids. He will be missed by everyone.

Herman was employed with ADC Metal Finishing in York, SC.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Jacques McIntyre.

He leaves to cherish fond memories to his mother, Emma T. Hopper of Shelby; brothers, William James Hopper of Lawndale, Ricky Dean Hopper (Regina) of Kingstown, NC and Barry Hopper of Shelby; sisters, Vanessa Ann Kee of Lawndale and Gina Fowler of Shelby; aunts, Annie Johnson and Edahlia Schenck (Donald); uncle, Jesse Hopper; special friends, Melissa Lawton, Greg Surratt, Pamela Miller and Misael Moran and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Hopper will be private. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM with a reception of friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. A mask is required if attending. Burial will take place at Palmer Grove Baptist Church. The family will be meeting at 2440 Oak Grove Road, Shelby, NC.
