Herman Eugene Bridges

Mr. Herman Eugene Bridges, age 85 of Boiling Springs, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Lancaster Bridges of the home, two daughters, June Evans of Boiling Springs, NC, and Robin Byrum of Richmond, VA, three grandchildren, Clay Evans (Elizabeth Moran), Melissa Byrum Watson (Josh), and Patrick Byrum, a great grandson, Andrew Watson, a brother, Kenneth Bridges of Mooresboro, NC, and a sister, Mary Lou Daves (Ray) of Boiling Springs, NC.
Born November 8, 1930 in Cleveland County, Mr. Bridges was the son of the late Morris Bridges and Lallage Brooks Bridges and was preceded in death by his son, Herman Lee Bridges, three sisters, Martha Beason, Nora Greene, and Aileen Crowe, and three brothers, Irvin Bridges, Millis "Bowser" Bridges and Perry Bridges.
Mr. Bridges enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and the Washington Redskins football. He was a member of the Boiling Springs Baptist Church serving on several committees over the years. He worked as a mechanic and parts manager for C.J. Hamrick and Sons and Hamrick-O'Shields Equipment. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:00 pm prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
