Herman Lester Bailey, age 80, of 134 West St. Spindale, NC passed away Thursday at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Herman was a native of Rutherford County, the son of the late William Edgar Bailey and Mammie Elizabeth Early Bailey, a retired carpenter, a US Army Veteran and member of Spencer Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Samson Lucan Rhodes, daughter in law Carol Ann Rhodes, brothers Norris and Horace Bailey, granddaughter Allyssa Tuggle and special friend Maye Pruett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Darcey Ireton Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday December 23, 2017 at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service in the family life center of Spencer Baptist Church.
