Hershel Nathan Davis, Jr, 76, of Kings Mountain passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his home.

He was born on May 19, 1949 in Cleveland County and was a son to the late Hershel Nathan Davis Sr. and Carrie Falls Davis. He was retired from auto body repair and served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Davis and Chester Davis; two sisters, Donnie Moorehead and Aileen Doty.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teal Davis; daughter, Karen Ellis and husband Phillip of Linwood; two sons, Hershel Davis III and Janet McDaniel of Kings Mountain, Matt Davis and wife Angie of Lexington; two step daughters , Jamie Hubbard of Shelby and Suzanne Cooke and husband Jacob of Casar; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Roger Davis and wife Jackie ; two sisters, Shirley Williams of Kings Mountain and Catherine Gibson of Shelby; sister in law, Sandra Davis of Gastonia; brother in law, Phil Moorehead of Kings Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Stamey - Tysinger Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church, with Rev. Matthew Davis and Rev. JR Robbins officiating.

Burial will follow at Beulah Community Church on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
