Hilda Jean Pearson Whaley, 87, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Cleveland County on January 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Summie Alexander Pearson and Macie Coralee Dixon Pearson. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by four brothers; Elbert, Harvey, Hubert, Arnold and two sisters, Juanita and Dorothy.

Jean is survived by her three children, Cathy Richard (husband Kavin), Randy Whaley and Debra Whaley, as well as, two grandchildren, Tiffany and Taylor Whaley, one great grandson, Maverick Grant and her beloved fur baby, Trixie.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Cemetery.
