Howard Milton Moore Jr. died peacefully on December 15th, 2018 at his home in Franklinton, NC at the age of 78. Howard will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, extraordinary father & grandfather. Howard's family and friends will continue to celebrate his life filled with contagious smiles, bear hugs and selfless service.
Howard was born on September 25th, 1940 to Howard M. Moore Sr. and Lillian McEntire Moore. Howard was a long-time employee of AT&T (formerly Western Electric) and retired after a 30-year career. Howard served his country in the United States Navy. Howard enjoyed gardening, cutting grass and also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Howard was a long-time member of Union Baptist Church of Shelby, NC and then, later, became a member of Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, NC.
Howard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lena Osborne Moore; sons, Howard M. Moore III "Tripp" and Patrick Seth Moore; daughters-in-law, Jamie Alexander Moore and Amanda Stancil Moore; grandchildren Nicholas Brown, Jacob Brown, Tanner Moore and Cullen Moore.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm on Thursday, December 20th , 2018 at Union Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, December 21st at 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church in Shelby, NC with burial immediately following with military honors at Union Baptist Cemetery Shelby, NC.
