Hugh Edward Wright, 83, of West NC 10 Hwy, Vale passed away on November 10, 2025 at his residence.

Hugh was born on January 3, 1942 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Evan Dewey Wright and Gladys Nellie Lindsey Wright. He was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Strawser and a brother, Jack Wright.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 66 years, Brenda Benge Wright; two daughters, Robin Buchanan and husband, Dale of Startown and Karen Johnson of Hickory; two grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan and Camyron Johnson and a brother, Fred Wright of Shelby.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with the Rev. William Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.

Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
