Hulen "Ed" Edwin Pearson, 78, of Stony Ranch Road, Shelby passed away on April 16, 2025 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville.

Ed was born on July 22, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Hulen Pearson and Maudie Moore Pearson. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church but also attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and New Camp Creek Baptist Church .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Jean Pearson; a great-grandson, Wyatt Scott Gordon; brother, Coy Pearson and a sister, Frances Moore.

Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Dalton Pearson; son, Joe Pearson and wife, Kelly of Shelby; daughter, Sherry Gordon and husband, Kevin of Shelby; two sisters, Eloise Green and Kathy Harris both of Shelby; grandchildren, Jennifer Armour and husband, Josh, Jake Pearson, Alex Gordon and wife, Macy and Zach Gordon and wife, Anne Marie and four great-grandchildren, Elliott Gordon, Kipton Gordon, Magnolia Gordon and Madeline Gordon.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Allen and Rev. Richard Stroup officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service. At other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Sherry Gordon, 123 Gordon Road, Shelby, NC 28150.

A private burial will be in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
