Ida Queen Wallace

Ida Queen Wallace "Big Mama", age 94 died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Grapperhall Home of Senior Care Carolinas, in Huntersville. Born in Cleveland County on September 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Vester Leroy and Ada Elizabeth Weathers Queen. Ida was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 60 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who raised eight children and became the proud grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to 81. Ida was a past Grand Matron of the West Gate Order of the Eastern Star #343, in Charlotte. In addition to her parents, Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Earle Wallace; two sons, Rev. Dan Wallace and Jerry Wallace; five brothers, two sisters, and a great granddaughter.

Ida is survived by two sons, Earl Wallace Jr. and wife Betty of Oak Island, and Del Wallace and wife Yadira of Iron Station; four daughters, Patricia Suddreth of Stanley, Marlena Fuerstman and husband Edwin Seroussi of Jerusalem, Israel, Connie Wilson and husband Joe of Gaffney, SC, and Tonya Lardner of Columbus; three sisters, Mary Dyer and husband Leroy, Doris Dyer, and Minnie Greene all of Shelby; 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Rabb officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm before the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home of grandson, Jamie Smith, 1427 Red Road, Shelby NC 28152.

The family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Grapperhall in Huntersville for all the love and care that they gave Ida during her stay.
