Mrs. Iller Bowman Young departed this life for her eternal home on Monday, July 12, 2021 at her residence in Shelby, NC. She was born on January 3, 1928 in Anson County, NC to the late Jerry Bowman and the late Ida Crowder Bowman.

Mrs. Young was a member of Meltonville Baptist Church in Peachland, NC. She was a loving caring and strong black woman who loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Young; one son, James Howard; one great grandchild Keasia Howard and her siblings, Willie Jean Nicholson, Raymond Bowman, Baxter Bowman, Claude Bowman, Roy Bowman, Rayford Bowman, Clyde Bowman and Susie Bowman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeddie Bowman, Ida Wilson, Floyd Howard, Daisy Barrino, Ethel Howard, Jacqueline "Jackie" Howard, Thomas Howard and Hazel Coward (Robert); a daughter-in-law, Karen Howard; siblings, Charles White, Sallie Ann Bennett, Jerry Bowman, Tina Cunningham, Edna Ruth Bowman and David Bennett; 41 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Young will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. She can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the chapel. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
