Ioma Giles Gantt

Ioma Giles Gantt, 87, of Double Shoals, went to her heavenly home on Friday, November 18, 2022 at White Oak Manor, Shelby .

Born in Newport, Tenn. on December 25, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Ross Giles and Bernice Turner Giles.
Mrs. Gantt retired from Doran Mills after thirty-six years of service. She was an active member of Double Shoals Baptist Church, attending the Adult III Women's Sunday School Class, and having served in the WMU. She also gave of her time by volunteering at the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association.

After their retirement Mrs. Gantt and her husband would spend many hours together camping, gardening, and canning, but she truly enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by the love of her life Clyde Donald Gantt her husband of sixty three years; daughter-in-law Kathy Gantt; brother, John L. Giles and sister-in-law, Carolyn Giles.

Survived by her, daughters Beth Hoyle and husband Everett, Jr, and Gail Bettis (Stanley); son Kenny Gantt; brother, Junior Giles; sister, Evie Davis; sister-in-law, Brenda Giles, Lib Gantt and Jessie Rogriquez (John); grandchildren, Krystal Taylor (Darrell), April Butler (Darrell), Ricky Haskin (Tasha), Amelia Gantt, Rose Ray (Eric), Trent Hoyle (Elizabeth) and Lacy Hoyle; great-grandchildren, Amber Johnson (Andy), Seth Manuel (Madison), Steven Taylor, Kaylea Scruggs (Blake), Zachary Haskin, Logan Haskin, Laney Haskin, Sawyer Haskin, Kenneth Hager, Haley Hager, Raven Causby (Chris), Drew Hoyle, Ethan Hoyle, Dia Ray, and Evan Ray; great-great grandchildren, Damien Causby, Anthony Causby, Rowyn Manuel, Grayson Johnson, and Carson Johnson and a special neighbor, Pat Cody.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Double Shoals Baptist Church with the Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
