Irene Spicer Hall

Irene Spicer Hall, age 79, of Forest City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Irene was born Saturday, March 27, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Gillie Spicer and Hattie Lou Buff Spicer. She was a dedicated homemaker and caretaker for her family and was lovely called, "Nanny" by her family. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church and loved Gospel singing. She was a member of the Foothills Choir, the Prisoners of Love quartet and the Riverside Trio. She enjoyed cooking for her family, going to thrift stores and going to church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost fifty-six years, Joe Hall; brothers, Abraham, George, Bobby and John Spicer and a sister, Judy Tessnear.

Left to cherish fond memories include her daughter, Sheila Conner (Michael) and son, Joey Hall (Zo Ann) all of Forest City; sisters, Louise Dedmon of Forest City, Janie Fleischer (Dale) of Youngstown, Ohio and Julie Lewis (Eddie Lail) of Caroleen; brother, Ronnie Spicer (Linda) of Forest City. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Katrina Deck (Aaron), Joseph Dylan Hall, Mikey Ray Conner, Dakota Hall and a number of nieces and nephews and her church family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Harrelson Funeral Home.
