Irma Crawford Porter, age 98, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.
Born August 26, 1918 in Harris, NC, she was a daughter to the late David Thomas Crawford and Martha Bryan McKinney Crawford. She was a graduate of Harris High School and attended Holly Springs Baptist Church. Irma was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting and word search puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Porter; one son, Donald Porter; two sisters, Nell Harmon and Ora Jolley and brother, Joe Crawford.
Survivors include one grandson, Donnie Porter and wife, Vonda of Dandridge, TN; granddaughter, Kimberly Grigg and husband, Chuck of Sevierville, TN; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Porter, Hannah Porter, Dillan Grigg and Kelsey Grigg; one great-great-grandchild, Coleman Grigg. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Porter of Seymour, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Harrelson Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
