J.L. Lancaster, age 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and gained his wings on April 12, 2021.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Lancaster, two daughters, Christine Harrington (Calvin) and Bobbie Jo Mathis (Charlie), a son in law, Randy Harrington (Brenda), five grandchildren, J.P. Harrington (Natalie), Heather Greene (Adam), Alex Davidson, Brittany Auton, and Renee Mathis (Derek), and four great grandchildren that were his world, Eli Greene, Noelle Harrington, Malakhi Harrington, and Connor Auton, and four sisters, Elizabeth Moore (Wayne), Mary Owens, Rita Lancaster, and Becky Fox (Phil), all of Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on June 17, 1952, J.L. was the son of the late Baxter Reid Lancaster and Edna Hamrick Lancaster. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lancaster.

A visitation will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 10:00am. The family requests those attending the services to please dress in everyday attire.
