Jack Stanley Simpson, 74 of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Born in Cleveland County on February 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Carl Henderson Simpson and Viona Ruth Moore Simpson. He was a retired corporal from the Cleveland County Detention Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jack S. Simpson, Jr.; one daughter, Debra Denice Simpson; six brothers, Rev. Herman Simpson, Bobby Simpson, Bud Simpson, Steve Simpson, Carl Simpson and Eugene Simpson; six sisters, Betty Guy, Yvonne Reynolds, Frances Peeler, Elaine Carpenter, Janie Simpson and Martha Simpson and two grandchildren, Alderholt Lee and Rebecca Hamrick.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil McSwain Simpson; one daughter, Sherry Lee and husband Timmy of Shelby; four grandchildren, Marie Lee, Joe Lee, April Cloninger and Ashley Wilson and six great grandchildren, Noah Hollingsworth, Austin Simpson, Jackson Lee, James Lee, Dalton Cloninger and J.D. Hamrick.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00AM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marcus McGill and Mr. Shane Hemitt officiating.

The entombment will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
