Jacqueline "Jacky" Brooks Stone, age 83, died Friday March 4, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare-Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on November 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Mallard Guy and Lila Emma LeGrand Brooks. Jacky was the owner of Nehi - RC Cola of Shelby and Stone Oil Company. She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School Classes, sang in the choir, a member of the Women's Circle and Bible Study Group and served on many committees. She was a sustaining member and past president of the Junior Charity League. She enjoyed playing bridge in the Couples and Ladies Bridge Clubs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing tennis golf and dancing when she was younger. In addition to her parents, Jacky is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Welch Stone Sr.; two children, Robert Welch Stone Jr. and Sherry LeBrook Stone; a brother, M. G. Brooks Jr.; and Cousins, Jimmy Childress and Bernice Latham.

Jacky is survived by three daughters, Terri Carpenter and husband Steve of Shelby, Leeanne Wade(Jimmy Graham) of Shelby and Allyson Stone (Michael Butler) of Black Mountain; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Stone of Shelby; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brooks and Spurgeon Booth of Durham; six grandchildren, Isaac Stone, Sarah Stone, Nick Bason, Wesley Wade, Zach Bason, and Zeke Butler-Stone; and two great grandchildren, Robbie Stone and Makenzi Stone.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Shelby with Rev. Tony Tench officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 8, 2015 from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
