James Craig Adair
James Craig Adair, 55, 4887 Canaan Church Rd. Smyrna, SC, died January 8, 2018, while on a cruise. Born in Tripoli, Libya, he is the husband of Donna McDaniel Adair and a son of the late James Varney and Joyce Cotton Adair. He was the manager of Big Lots of Shelby, NC, and attended Canaan UMC. He loved landscaping, Alabama football, travelling, and his cat.
In addition to his wife, he survived by one son - Jonathan Carlton of Blacksburg; three daughters - Amanda Oglesby of Blacksburg, Julia Deal of Clover, and Deana McDaniel of Gaffney; one brother - Barry Adair and wife, Kellie of Shelby; two sisters - Wendy Adair of Huntsville, AL, and Patricia Slusher of Southport, NC; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nephews and nieces including Tyler Adair and Maranda Adair both of Shelby; and his mother-in-law - Joan Martin of Smyrna.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 2-3:00 PM, at Canaan UMC, Smyrna, SC. A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ed Reynolds offciating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Jason Deal, Greg Wray, Jeremy Parker, Jack Adler, Eric Smith and Chance Storey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the America Cancer Society or to the Humane Society.
