James Dean Causby, Sr., 74, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County on January 16, 1947, he was a son of the late David Thomas Causby and Alice Lorene Hensen Causby. He was a member of Wallace Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Nancy Faye Philbeck Causby; four brothers, Walt Causby, Earl Causby, Eddie Causby and JC Causby and two sisters, Betty White and Linda Fowler.

Survivors include one son, James Dean Causby, Jr. and wife, April of Shelby; two daughters, Lori Carroll and husband, Wayne of Blacksburg, SC and Doris Causby of Shelby one brother, Tommy Causby of Shelby; two sisters, Martha Jones of Fallston and Mildred Kanipe of Shelby and three grandchildren, Hayley Hartsoe and husband, Michael, Nikki Morris and husband, Jamie and Madison Causby.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00 am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Phillips and Rev. Darren Jones officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Wallace Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
