James "Doc" Theadore Wilkie

James "Doc" Theadore Wilkie, 79, of Polkville, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on April 19, 1943, he was a son of the late James Cecil Wilkie and Edna Mae Carico Wilkie. He was the former owner and operator of Wilkie's Tire & Auto Center in Polkville.

in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Charlie Wilkie; two brothers, Vaugh Wilkie and Dean Wilkie; and two sisters, Margaret Brown and Mary Wilkie.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Jean Bumgardner Wilkie; son, Jimmy Wilkie of Icard; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wilkie of Polkville; sister, Elaine Wilkie of Morganton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Randall and husband Robbie of Cherryville and Stephanie Allen and husband Tyler of Boiling Springs; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Allen and Emma Allen; special friend, Wayne "Twig" Neely; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Frinday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 Am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Scott officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.
